Frequently Asked Questions

You must bring the complete, unsigned document (if an oath is required) and a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport. Photocopies of IDs are not acceptable.

Under Texas law, if you do not have a valid photo ID, your identity can be verified through the sworn testimony of a **Credible Witness**. This is an individual who personally knows you, is not a party to the transaction, and can present their own valid ID to the notary. The notary will administer an oath to the credible witness, who will then vouch for your identity.

No. As a Texas Notary Public, I am strictly prohibited from providing legal advice or assisting in the preparation of legal documents. My role is to verify identity and witness signatures. Please consult an attorney for legal assistance.
